Lovely looking image Jon. I like the POV and the HA with the trailing grass. I would have liked to see more details in the whites

I am a little puzzled Will - I can see good detail on my monitor - I will take another look to see if I can squeeze a bit more....any better? I added clarity and did a little luminosity masking.

I'm seeing plenty of details in the original and the re-post is looking a little unnatural. Nice frame with a good look at this nest building Gannet over the blue ocean. In a opposite suggestion to your comment on my recent post, I would like to see the bird a bit higher in the frame.
    Nice shot Jonathan

Will I think I overdid it a little - maybe somewhere between the two would be better - it's a bit subjective I guess. David - touche (can't do the accent on the "e") -I think you are right and a tad higher would be better. On reflection I think it is better to crop in CS6 than DPP - the cropping guides are better/more informative

For the second version, I think it is the white detail on the top surface of the bird that is overdone so for the wings and back I would drop sharpening a wee bit (the rump and tail seem fine), drop highlight recovery a bit more; and on the nesting material reduce sharpening a bit. Everythgn else is spot on.
