A quintet of zebra provide me with a suitable FG to this area known as Hidden Valley in the Serengeti,

it hadn't rained for over a week and small whirlwinds/dust devils appeared frequently, it doesn't take long for this area to dry our very quickly.

Made the best of midday light unfortunatley.

D4 80-400 AF-S 1/250s f/16 ISO800@ 80mm. HH from front pax seat, slight crop fpr comp, curves, levels, mid pt adj-TK masking, ACR/PS CC '14.

    C & C most welcome

    Cheers
    Marc

Quite a cool scene, possibly because of the harshness of the heat/light/drought.
The dust devil is a nice touch. Did you try a high contrast B&W?

Hi Marc - the dust devil adds a bit of interest. I like the way 4 of the 5 are looking at you and their placement in the frame. Too bad the 5th didn't cooperate but that's nature. Unfortunate about the harsh light but still a nice scene.

    TFS,
    Rachel

    Hi Marc

Love the wide open space, and the zebras in FG anchor it well.
Light a bit harsh, but you were there then..
    Regards

    Andre.

Wow love the dust devil.. I remember seeing lots of them in Kruger a few years back. Like pretty much everything about this one just wished you could have had some nicer light to work with.. You handled it well.. Nice depth to the image with the animals in the distance...

    Hello Marc,

That beauty of a Dust Devil caught my eye too...Thinking a B/W might also work here, have you considered it? For the colour version I would probably look at adding a tad more vibrance here and there - maybe not "what you saw" - I agree, just what my eyes want to see:)

Love the wide spaces and those animals peppered everywhere - what an awesome place this is - lovely scene, thank you so much for sharing!

    Kind regards,
