    Default Merlin

This is another frame from the female Merlin that I photographed with Dave last year. In her talons she is holding a rather large dragonfly snack

Size: 323.3 KB

Shot with the 1D-X and 600II + 1.4X III. ISO 1600, f/5.6 at 1/2500sec hand held from truck. Processed in DPP 4. We had fast moving clouds in the sky, the original was underexposed by a full stop so I boosted the exposure in post

    Hope you like it

Hi Arash! Love the light, details, pose, BG tone. Well done processing. If mine would rotate a bit CW and add a bit of room at the left and top. TFS.
    Cheers,

Stunning, as to be expected! Great "attitude" (pose) and HA. Love the dragonfly in the talons.... we have a Merlin nest at the back of our property... when the "babes" fledge, it's awesome to see them hunt the dragonflies around the lake....

Beautiful pose, nice catch for both of you. Great PP work for an underexposed shot.

Lovely shot, with great pose from Ms. Merlin. Well done with the exposure correction, and elimination of any resulting noise. My first reaction was that a little less of the bottom perch would be nice, with a corresponding amount added on top; but given where the bark occurs I can see why you cropped where you did.

She sure looks great in this frame Arash! Nice front facing pose with great looking light and a nice shooting angle. The techs and details look perfect and I like the leftover wings in her feet. I'm praying that she shows up again this fall!! See ya soon.
