Couldn't resist having a pop at this juvenile gull, as it rested on this post in the warm sunshine, however NOT ideal shooting conditions! I think it's a herring Gull, but perhaps it's not? Again, if it's not, please let me know.

Thanks for either viewing or commenting on the previous image.

    Hello Steve!

Was your subject calling or yawning?

Too cute, love the way he is balancing on his perch and the pose is awesome:)

I am unable to identify the species as I have never seen it before, all I can do is marvel at the way you captured him and smile from ear to ear - this is delightful, you made my evening Steve, - superb PP work as always and the presentation is perfect!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

    LOL, yawning Gabriela.

I just needed to move a fraction to the left, sit and wait (not long) for the next yawn, hoping it was going to be straight down the barrel! Applying this to say a Hippo is far harder because of the distance, think of the length from nose to the back of the throat.

Over the past few years I have been "stealing" every bit of knowledge I could from your images, Steve Always checking your settings, calculating distances, measuring things...Canon or Nikon, it makes no difference to me, as long as the techs are spot on. The more you share, the more I learn Framing correctly is so important and the best pose will bring about the best response. Eyes open or closed...it does not matter as long as it hits home.

    Detail is so important

... and I have learnt to read all the info between the lines, LOL

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
