    Have not posted in Avian in way to long sorry about that I have been focused on landscapes but I came across this file while going through my older raws and decided to process it.

    1DMKIII. 300 f/4, 1/1000 at f/5.6, Aperture Priority, Evaluative Metered, Raw, ISO 400

    My kind of shot Don. Outside the box and interesting and perfectly executed. Not one for the purists, but if its any consolation one for me!

    its different Don,but I like the evil look,BG seperates the bird nicely,would have liked a bit more DOF,TFS.

    I go with Mike on this I think. Certainly makes you look twice!
    Bit more DOF as mentioned would be good butwould be difficult with that beak!

    Really cool and different! Agree a bit more DOF (for the beak)....but would be difficult! However, "the eyes have it"! Perfect BG. Really like how the slight blues on the upper beak work with it. Maybe just a tad more "vertical" comp? (and, this is a "Little Blue Heron"?)
