This is for the theme of April.
I have images of 31 warbler species, but this is my favorite by far.
One reason is, the difficulty to find one in the open.
Thanks for looking.

beautiful image! great IQ, comp & BG. Only wish you had better DOF to get the legs & tail sharp.
Hi Girish,
Thanks for your comment.
Here is the story of the shooting if anybody is interested.
I used a caller but it did not work.
We were standing along with my wife and were hoping for a show up.
Then the bird popped up on this log from the dense undergrowth. M
y camera was facing towards the log by chance and it was on a tripod.
I fired four frames and only two had the bird, which means it was there for a fraction of a second.
My wife could not even lift up her gear and it was over.
Never before and never after in fifteen years I had a chance for this bird.
So despite the fact that the shot is not perfect, I'm very happy with it.
Some of the Warblers are very hard to shoot.
This is indeed a difficult one to photograph!! I've tried a few times with local ones and they do not come way out, even for calls (but do react to it). I like the log perch and the pose. Nice green BG. If you have it I'd add a bit back at left. A small processing remnant is showing between the tail tip "forks".
I like the pose, HA, clean BG, details and how the colors of the warbler are complimented by the spots on the perch. I agree with some more room on our left comp wise. Excellent image Karl!
Hi Karl i no nothing about this species and its behavior , so think you done very well with this image .
What not to like ............. nothing !!!
Love the colors and the fine detail you achieved in post . I also see the masking issue Daniel is talking .
That is an amazing story how you captured this image. Brilliant, you even got a good HA. I like the colours on the bird, the perch and the BG. Very well done on capturing this bird and thanks for sharing it
Karl
I know all too well what its like to get one quick chance at a species you have yearned for. Alright, it may no be one hundred percent but I,d be happy under the circumstances

One day I'll get a good image of this species!!
Thanks Daniel, than you all.
As you suggested, I cleaned up at the tail and added canvas to the left.
Simply amazing! This guy never pops into the open. And you got a great pose and fabulous detail to boot. I would be thrilled. My only nit is that the log is a little more prominent than I would like. Maybe crop a little more off the bottom and add correspondingly top and left. Maybe even rotate CW just a bit before cropping to make the log less of a feature. Congratulations on getting this elusive species.
Interesting story karl!. I know shooting warblers is very tough as they zip in and out of bushes.
I was not trying to nitpick with the DOF. Only felt that it could have made the image even better.
Very nice image and story to boot. IQ is excellent and those colours make the bird stand out against the BG. The amazing catchlight in the eye really draws attention to that spot
Great looking pose in sweet light quality...the light quality suggests a forested canopy to me. These guys are skulkers...you did really well, and who knows, maybe the audio worked better than you thought, just maybe not like you planned :) The fresh breeding plumage is lovely sight to see :)
I'm a bit late but had to say that this looks Killer Karl.
great job catching this guy in the split second it took! ! Very nice in all regards.
