    The very smallest of the Grebe family. This little guy was called in with playback and I snapped this as he turned to change direction. I thought it best to place him in centre of frame.

    7D2, 500mm f/4L IS
    f/5.6, 1/2000s, ISO 1000

    those eyes stand out like headlights in the high key setting. Lovely comp & IQ as well.

    Trying to stare you down eh! I like those eyes. Good details, well exposed. I would have liked the comp better had you pointed your lens a bit more to your left. This is making me look forward to the Pied-billed Grebes up here :-)

    The thumbnail does not do this image justice. I like the sharpness, slight head tilt and those amazing yellow eyes. A real beauty Kester.
