This was from my Timbavati trip. The light was very low and I was struggling with my SS. I nailed the eye contact but the RAW had a slight blur due to cam shake / motion blur. I did sharpen this with 3 rounds of subtle USM in the resized image. Does it work?

    Hello Sanjeev

Mmm...this is a bit of a tough one, looking at your exif. High ISO, but not high enough IMO. I would have pushed it and dealt with the noise later. 1/80s combined with hand held 500 lens cannot give you a very sharp image...The composition works very well for me and you did nail the eye contact there... I would have liked more detail in the blacks though. I borrowed your image to see if I could sharpen further and in the process I played a bit with the colours trying to get a more natural look. Let me know what you think, don't think I did a great job but worth trying, what a lovely sighting this was and so lovely to see this relaxed male looking straight into your lens!

    Have a lovely afternoon,

Thank you so much for viewing and commenting on my images- I really appreciate it!

Hi Sanjeev - While the eye contact is good, you've got so many images that are much better. The combination of the flat cat, the techs and the pp just aren't working for me. Gabriela has improved the color. There is a heavy red cast as posted. You've identified the sharpness issue yourself. Also the upper lip looks like it may have been blown a bit and recovered. Sorry, but you have improved so much over the time you've spent on BPN that we have just come to expect more now.

    TFS,
    Rachel
