    Default African Fish Eagle

This image was captured 4 minutes before my Green Backed Heron image that I posted yesterday. At this dam just outside one of the camps in the Kruger National Park, one needs to be alert, as there is such a lot of wildlife in the early morning, and one can come away with a variety of different subjects. I took a few shots of this Fish Eagle, and then hoped I would get a take off shot. He did take off, but unfortunately there is a large branch top left out of this frame and the FE flew behind it. Taken very early morning.

Lovely image great exposure and colours and fine pose.
The very edge of the dark plumage against the sky appears to have a very fine saw toothed edge as do the brown feathers on the leg (??)

Nice looking back pose of this good looking Eagle, Stuart. Nice light hitting the head and shoulder area.

Thanks Jon. I now see it too. Not sure how, as this is not even a big crop, and havent done anything different in my pp work. Thanks for pointing it out.

    Thank you Karl.

    Hello Stu

Wonderful capture of this majestic Fish Eagle, well exposed, love the composition, BG, colours are superb. Great eye contact

The "saw toothed edge" is minute and I only saw it after reading Jonathan's comment - could it be the sharpening?

Stu, recently I have been struggling to get over the fact that we could not get a booking in the Kalahari - your lovely capture made me optimistic about our Kruger Park visit later in the year - enjoyed viewing, very much

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Stu lovely colorful image of this majestic bird .
Well handled exposure with loads of detail in HL /SH. Great IQ and very well processed .
    Great work Stu .
I guess the edges are artifacts of sharpening and downsampling on a low res file .just my 2 cents.

Hi Stu - I like this one a lot with a good look back pose, beautiful colors with subtle variations and the catchlight. Exposure looks great too. Well done.

Once again the light looks awesome in this one too. The head on stair is very captivating and the colors, details and perch look great also. Nice exposure to. Well done Stuart
