No one has posted for the theme yet so I thought I would start things off with this songbird.
I took the image in Nome, Alaska in June 2013
Canon 1DX
500mm and 1.4x
ISO 800 F 6.3 SS 1/400
Can't remember what I did for PP but cropped to a vertical from horizontal and NR to BG.
Comments and critiques always appreciated and learned from with thanks,
Gail

I like the singing pose and the slight blur of the lower bill which gives motion to the image. Of course the background and perch with the emerging leaves add subtle interest. Would prefer a bit of a turn toward us and also I'd reduce the sharpening on his back. Your tour did much better with this species than ours did.
Hi Gail, lovely singing pose looking up to the heavens. Excellent feather detail, and I do like the greens of the foliage against the grey's of the BG. Im also seeing a bit of 'crunchiness ' ( is that a word ) on the birds back behind the head.
Very nice image, being critical I think ideally the SS should have been faster or a tad slower to emphasise the bill movement or stop it. DOF is good just a tad shallow.
