    Default Staredown

This Peregrine Falcon buzzed the back bay at Bolsa Chica late one afternoon a few years ago while I was shooting Osprey... and I barely got my camera around in time to catch him checking me out as he cruised by.
Blue sky BG is quite boring and I would've loved to have this against some of the lovely scenery at this wetlands... but I do like the stare and thought you might too.
Unfortunately I lost the RAW file last year when my HD crashed and burned, so this is re-sharpened a tiny bit from the JPG.

All C&C are greatly encouraged and most appreciated. Thanks for looking at what I love to do.

I like the head turn and the even lightning under the wings, details are good, it looks just a tad over-sharpened to me, probably due to working with a JPEG file. I can see a yellow cast on the feathers. sorry about your crash, hope you have a solid backup now.

    Love the stare!
I could see this cropped as a tight vertical as well. Nice and sharp.
I am OK with the yellow because I assume it was because of a setting sun.

The stare is wonderful. You must have fast reflexes to catch this speedster flying at you like this.

Hi Kirk, great eye contact, and I do like the diagonal flight pose across the frame. Good view of the feet tucked in during flight. We all wish for a foliage BG, but when you get head turns like this, I will take it any day against a sky BG.

Nice looking frame Kirk! I like the stare and the details look good to me and I like the evening light. The white feather on the head is cool too. Well done.
