Hi Jon, good action captured here with the interaction and flying droplets. Love the pose of the lower Grebe, and I do like the colour of their eyes. With the 1DX, Im wondering why you dont push the ISO higher.

Wow, very dramatic action caught here Johnathan. I really like the pose of the lower grebe and the blurred foot of the upper one. Looks like he's going to get hammered. Well done.

Dave it was a mating pair, the next shot I will post shows how he ignominiously slips off the female and lands on her head

Stu I was on Auto ISO - I had been previously photographing grebes gliding by and I forgot to increase the SS for the action.

Very nice shot Jon, great action. I like the blurred foot, it gives the impression he is banging on her back. Great work. It reminds me of when I was photographing them last year. He was mating with her, or trying to, whilst she was sitting on 2 chicks on the nest.

Hi Jon , nice action shot well processed , sadly the SS was a bit too slow for the fast movement , but no deal breaker .
Have you changed your color view slightly ? . Am missing some of the blue .

Did you get along with the video ?

Yes slowed myself down a bit for the processing - in fact I reprocessed after the video. Played around with white balance and colour temp etc before settling on a colour range and revised sharpening settings. I went on two separate days so the colours were different and unfortunately light direction was far from ideal - especially for the coots which I posted previously. Andreas thanks very much once again
