I used some overlays from Bellefleurs as png, so they were pretty translucent, and a textured paper form BelleFleur as well. Some imperfections cloned and tone corrections. I also used a brush to soften the BG and the rear leaf.

Great composition and color combination. I like the contrast between the soft background and the leaf, too. Was it the Blur Tool brush that you used on the background?

NO Dennis, it was a brush that I got in the Pet Portrait workshop by Cheryl Butler. Thanks for your comment.

I love these soft kind of images. I also wondered what the blur brush was. My eyes keep going to the left blurred stem. I wonder how it would look with a bit less saturation of the colors, or maybe it's the white marks on the stem that keeps catching my eye.

Hi, Jackie, I really like the contrast between the in focus, sharp leaf and the soft, oof leaf in the background. Nice, subtle textures.

Thanks for the comments, Nancy I might work on blurring that left stem some more.

Beautiful leaf, details, colors. The bg is smooth and lovely. I, too, find the leaf on the left to be distracting.
