    I thought this Tufted Duck gave me a scary pose yesterday evening at the local loch . The white spots are the remains of a snow storm

    Great pose.
    I would crop out the log on the RHS. I don't think it adds anything to the image.
    I think a square crop with the duck nicely centered would really focus the viewer eye onto the duck.
    I would also try to lift the shadows a bit.
    I like the snowflakes and the bit of iridescence on the primaries.
