Default Pine Marten On Snow Bank.

This Pine Marten seemed to favour a certain "path" and paused atop the snow bank quite often. Noticing this, I set myself up in the hopes it would pass and stop there again...it did. I liked the stare it gave me before heading off its "perch"

Canon 7D + 100-400L @310mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/400s., f/6.3, ISO 800, a couple of darker branches in the upper BG toned down via low-opacity clone stamp, a few dark specks in the snow removed via spot removal tool.

Hi Daniel, I really like the colours in this one, nice & rich, adding to the 'pop factor' from the environment. Having a hint of detail in the snow also works, as it adds interest. Like the body posture and the look 'again' to camera.

Another cracker!! That exposure around the face is spot on. Love the snow and look on the Pine Marten. The pine in the background completes the scene

Hi Daniel good work in the field regarding your positioning and observing animals behavior , to make this shot possible.
I like the overall comp and the look to the viewer of the subject . Nice rich colors and tone , i just feel this images does not have the pop as the previous posting of the Marten . Just the right amount of detail in the snow .

    Well done and TFS Andreas

I do not tire of seeing the African wildlife, but it is special to see a great capture of our native North American mammals! I has all been said above....but thanks so much. Your observation skills are inspiring.
