Last week I went to Algonquin Park specifically to photograph some Pine Martens, but the Boreal Chickadee was also a target species as some have been hanging out near a suet feeder all winter. I only got to see one (twice) for fleeting glimpses, but luckily for me on the first showing it chose an OK perch for long enough to take a few frames (not the one I was hoping for, but still good enough). Not a bad souvenir for my first ever sighting of the species
Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/125s., f/4, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, about 75% FF, usual eye work, smoothed out an oof branch in lower left corner.
Hi Dan, excellent angled pose, and love the soft light in this. Well done on the overall exposure, good plumage detail showing up, and your BG finishes off the image nicely.
Very nice Dan. I love how the image has a softness feeling about it, even though it is perfectly sharp. Great BG which shows the bird well. Beautiful head details, Great work
