We are fortunate to have a lake near us that has several Western and Clarks Grebes. Here is a Western Grebe that I captured in a unique Bg. Shot from a tripod at lakes edge with D4 600mm w 1.4III tc ISO 800 , F6.3, 1/2500 sec. Thanks for your comments

What a captivating eye. THe water colors are attractive. I feel that there is a bit too much room on the left and as such the image feels unbalanced. I would also try to tame the whites of the neck and bring out more details in them.

What Grace said. I think you could also remove a little off the top and soften the reflection as it exits the frame, as it pulls the eye away from the bird.

Love the water drops! They would be more prominent with the bird bigger in the frame.

Great shot Glenn, how have you been?

I'm with Grace re. the neck whites, came out a tad hot. I like the BG BTW

Yes, taming the whites would really help the image a lot. The details elsewhere look great though, and the that background is indeed quite appealing...for that reason I am OK with the amount of it showing, but yes a tighter crop is a good alternate version too.

Repost looks good Glenn! Whites are bright white but not blown on my monitor. The water color really adds to the frame.
