Default Redpolls among the easy white highlows; accidents happen, etc.

Hello! With few exceptions, our eyes like to see the closer bird in focus, isn't that so? I was photographing the streakier redpoll, when suddenly the paler one hopped into the scene. I had less than a second to work with, and this is what happened:

I like this accidental picture, and the more I look at it, the more my eyes adjust. Would the picture be infinitely superior, or at least less bad, if the closer redpoll were in focus? I will welcome your opinions low and high. ALSO: I love square format pictures. Especially when there are two birds and empty space. I can't help myself. A medium format fetish, perhaps.

I give you 10/10 for originality Jack. I think it would have worked very well indeed had there been just a small space between the bill of the bird on the left and the bird on the right, then it would not have appeared accidental!
