    Default Stretching Cattle Egret

    Taken in Ft Pierce, FL, in in overcast sky. You can see the shadow of it's stretching leg through the wing. :) Let me know what you think and thanks for looking.


    Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS USM +1.4X on Canon 40D
    1/160s @ f/80, ISO 800
    Gitzo carbon fiber tripod, Wimberley head

    love it shawn!! bg is fantastic for this bird and the wing stretch is over the top!! well done!

    Very interesting and unusual sight. I like the stretched wing and leg visible through it. The plumage looks a bit dirty, not that you could have done anything about it. I might give it a bit more room.

    Axel, sometimes the breeding cattle egrets get gold highlights on the wings and back feathers and not just the crest and breeding plumage. As it loses the color, they look like this one.

    Great job. I might give it more room in front and perhaps below but looking good capturing that pose.

    Excellent image. I like the unique pose, good exposure and eye contact.
