Really like the concentrated look and that massive paw with extended claws. Nice details and the wider view gives a nice idea of its environment.

Hi Rachel, great eye contact from the cub, as he/she is tucking into its meal. I do like the bloodied nose, and amazing to see the size of their claws at that young age. I feel your placement of the cub is just fine, and the blood on the grass, and left over leg add interest to the overall image.

Hello Rachel,
This image is a tad warmer than the previous - like it as is, 100% on PP work, wonderful pose with those claws "digging" into the meat...Just realised how small this cub is, at the same time he is "one big fella" when it comes to attitude!
Hope you had a wonderful evening:)
Chat soon,
Warmest regards,

Hi Rachel, I think I prefer this, as it has more going for it.

Thanks Shane, Stu, Gabriela and Steve. Gabriela - this cub was the smallest of the 4 and grabbed a piece and moved off to the side while its 3 siblings tore at the rest of the impala kill.
Thanks again,
Rachel

The central comp works for me. So cute, and already with a gruesome lifestyle...quite the contrast that I like very much for the image.
P.S. There is a tiny bright leaf top edge that I would have no problem getting rid of if mine...

Thanks Daniel, I see the leaf now and can crop to remove it. I generally don't clone.
Thanks again,

Hi Rachel , did he/ she told you to not come closer with this look of those eyes ? At least i feel so.
I like the way you processed this with good tonal range , nice overall color and detail. For me the view is a bit wide and you loose some of that look of the cub , saying this from my POV. From this POV the claws and feet do look huge !!!
Nice one Rachel !!

Hi Rachel
This image is much more powerful- it says "it is MINE!"
I call them the boys with the small teeth and big feet, and a bigger curiosity..
Loves how he grabs the price, the slanted look and the left paw's hook.
Know you do not clone, but I would do some gardening.
Would squeeze off a few images at 7,1 to check noise and have more DOF, but that could make the BG more prominent..?
Love the emotion in this image.

Nice one Rachel - you managed to get the cub to stand out tonally from the similar-coloured grass.
I just love how big and gawky their paws are for their size - dig that claw too.
