Hi, everyone, I'm back from my trip. Bilbao was my first stop because I wanted to see the Guggenheim Museum that Frank Gehry designed. Here's a shot that I took - one of 3 HDR shots that I took while swinging the camera - you never know what you're going to get and I think it's great fun. Sometimes I'll use the overexposed one by itself as an abstract (I'll probably post one of those soon). I added a water paper texture from CC.

Welcome back! I like the combination of muted colors, and the effect from the paper texture adds a lot of appeal.

I'm not sure if I understand what you did to get the image. It's a single exposure from a bracketed series of three shots? Swinging the camera is something I need to try. Sounds like a low percentage of keepers, but that really doesn't matter.

Cool technique Cheryl. I like the effect and the composiiton. It must have been a very subtle swing. Welcome Back!

Dennis, I should have said that I used the in camera HDR mode on my Canon 5DMarkIII. It puts 3 images together and you can use different effects like Art Vivid (Artie uses that a lot), Art Standard, etc. I probably used Art Standard and this one did not have much swinging motion (you were right, Jackie). The blended images in camera if you do any movement usually ends up with a chrome effect. Here's the original jpg before water paper was added.

Wow! Excellent. Outstanding composition. The graceful shape on the right is nicely balanced by the red of the bridge. Your creative approach to taking the photo worked really well. Just the right amount of blur. The texture works perfectly.

    Do you usually shoot jpeg?

Welcome back. I hope you had a satisfying trip and that your photographic inspiration was reawakened. I think it was based on this image.

Welcome back Cheryl! Love the abstractness of this and the curving lines & muted colors, yet it is still recognizable as buildings, etc. The paper texture is perfect!

Anita, the individual images are usually RAW and the in-camera blended image is automatically produced as a jpeg.

Hi Cheryl, glad you are back and happy that you had a nice trip. I like this image a lot, looks like an ink and watercolor painting. I'll bet you have a ton of cool images, can't wait to see them!
