Had a great weekend, finding two Screech Owls, one during the day and the other called in at night.

Great camo indeed! I also love the little talons at the edge of the roosting spot. Great glass-like eyes. I kinda wish it was looking down towards us, but you composed it nicely for the upward gaze. I'm wondering if the blacks should be lightened a tad?

While your owl is well exposed with nice details, I think this image would have more impact had you photographed the owl small in the frame.

A neat image. It would be great to see the bird smaller in the frame as Marina mentioned. If you have it, post it :). The talons sticking out is a nice plus as well. I wonder what a 5x7 crop with a bit off the top might look like.

Thanks John, It wasn't visible at first but when we played a call he popped up and hooted back. It was still very hard to see him and he never looked directly at us

Marina, I always thought bigger was better. I'll post another looser frame later

Here's one mid hoot. Followed your suggestions.

Talk about camoflage! The OP works nicely for me. Well seen, hooted (or more likely whinnied), and captured.
