    John,

    A nice job with the fill flash. Detail shows up really well!

    If it were mine, I would remove some of the speckles above the head and behind the neck. I might also reduce the contrast in the bg just a tad.

    I like how wide eyed the bird looks...very cool facial markings too....looks like it's going through a bit of a molt....Repost is a nice improvement from the OP.
