    Hi All,

Made this image last week. This guy was standing in a plate of birdseed, so I went for the vertical. to eliminate plate. worked on the beak, eye, and a bright area just behind the eye.

Speaking of printers!! I'm thinking of buying the Canon Pixma Pro9500. Anyone have any words of wisdom?:)

    Nice action here Bruce,
I like the close up of your bird. Would be better if the bird had a different head angle...( slightly away from you ). The eye is slightly out of focus, your point of focus seems to be on the wing and body...

    Hi Gus,

Thanks for the comments - do you have any idea what causes the "halo" starting just behind the head an dextending all the way down the back??

I was looking at that Bruce...I can't pin point it but perhaps its due to the sharpening you did...

Did you doctor up the background in any way Bruce. Maybe used a paint brush to clone out something and did not feather it properly???

bruce, was it there in the original? i was thinking that it could have happened when you converted to a jpeg and compressed it.

That is one strange Halo Almost looks as if there was a light source behind the bird. The front part of the bird is not well lit so light had to be form the hard right and maybe even some from behind.

Still very strange and like Harold's suggestion of checking the original !!!

Nice closeup Bruce, agree with Gus regarding the head angle.

I checked the original, and it has a little halo, but not like the crop that I posted. It may be that the crop accentuated the halo??

Nice portrait of a goldfinch, Bruce; agree with comments noted. Re the halo, I've on occasion seen something similar on shots I've taken with my MkIII, but no idea what caused it. Interesting to see it on someone else's image....I've never seen one like it with any other camera I've used....
