Made this in my hometown Bangalore with a Canon 450D + Sigma 150-500mm.
F6.3 | ISO 400 | SS 1/1600 @ 500mm. Manual | Eval
Cropped from horizontal | Levels | USM | NR on BG.
Great BG colors and look back pose. The direct gaze is very nice and draws me into the image.
I would lighten up the birds right eye with a bit of dodging and back off slightly on the sharpening.
I like this image a lot!

Wonderful subject, and you got it on a nice perch and against a beautiful background. Vertical comp a no-brainer. I love the direct stare. I agree the darker of the two eyes would look better if lightened.
Lovely shot and proove that the 'old' Sigma can produce nice detail if used correctly. I love that 'stare'and agree about raising the shadows over its shaded eye.
Stunning image, Girish, for all the reasons mentioned above. Your DOF is perfect and I love the full head turn for this head-on view. Beautiful BG and perch. Vertical comp and bird placement also perfect. Lovely!
