    Default Muscovy Duck

Hopefully I have the correct ID, not that up to speed on 'Ducks', however please feel free to correct my assumption if I'm incorrect.

This is 'Mildred', a wild Muscovy Duck that live(s) in the trees above the decking of the hotel we were staying at. She would come down, help the gardeners and forage around the shrubs, they were the ones to name her. Taken as she waddled along the pool decking. Could have done with a bit more DoF for the tip of the beak. Two small Bougainvilla petals removed from the BKG. For those who like o look closer, you will see the palm tree within the eye, LOL.

Thanks for either viewing or commenting on the previous image.

Lovely. I enjoy all the detail in the bill and face. The debris on the bill sits well with me too. It's great that the bird was so relaxed around your presence as to allow such a close approach. The slightly straight edged lines in the background are interesting.

Definitely the right ID Steve. Nice job with the exposure and details and I too like the debris on bill. Good-looking portrait

Thanks folks appreciate the comments & feedback, hope I might get something a bit more interesting in a few months time when we return, but need to be careful carrying a 500 around by the pool, gives the wrong impression, so the smaller lens are best, LOL.

    Thanks for the confirmation David.
