Early in the morning of April 4 (in the US) there will be a lunar eclipse visible to varying degrees depending on where you are. The best places to view it are on the Pacific Rim -- western Alaska, eastern Siberia (any readers there?) Hawaii, eastern Australia and Antarctica, but to varying extents elsewhere. Then there will be another one on September 27 that will be good across the US.

Grab some shots of the moon any time before to gauge the focal length you'll want.
