Early morning south of Polentswa. The female in a previous post was part of this group, she lagged behind.
They spotted some Wildebeest some distance away, were clearly in hunting mode.
Still nothing as beautiful to see these girls striking the pose in sweet morning light.
Left part of road as it is as much travelled by predators as man.
The high bank of the road makes spotting them by prey in the dry riverbed very difficult. They can get so much closer without being detected.

Hi Andre, a very nice scene with the alert pose of the lions. Very nice comp too. The sandy road is perfectly OK and gives an idea of how close you might have been.

Hi Andre - This works very nicely. I feel like I am alongside you in the vehicle. Lovely light hitting the one lioness. A nice view into the habitat and their life. Perhaps a slight amount of cw rotation to straighten the horizon.

Andre this takes me right back there - love that soft early light, the typical colours of the white sand, red sand, camelthorn trees, etc.
I might shave some off the bottom?

Love the scene. Amazing how they blend into the grass. I like it!

Hi Andre, I think this is your best, love everything about it, the environment/habitat/wider POV on this image. The rich depth of colour is so appealing and good choice of format, wouldn't change a thing.

Thank you all for comments! Was not too sure how this one would go down with an audience, but I loved the ambiance of this.
Rachel, did rotate the image slightly, used the grid to straighten the horizon, will check again.
Morkel, can you remember the first smell of fresh rain and the cool whip of the first drops?
Dumay, that is why there is no tall grass close our campsites?!

    Steve, thanks, means a lot
    Regards

Hi Andre - I usually use the ruler tool to straighten. I thought it looked slightly off as posted and when I pulled the ruler across the visible horizon, the slightest amount of cw rotation was indicated.

You are most welcome Andre, so perhaps keep the next few images in line with this and lets see, I don't think you always need to add the 'kitchen sink' in, all the time.

Love the way they melt into their environment so well. Behaviour well captured and well processed mate.
