    Default Cape Gannet

This is one of my favourite seabirds, the Cape Gannet.
They breed through summer in colonies up to 7,000 + birds, this particular location is called Bird Island in Lambert's Bay which is found along the West Coast of South Africa.

They are not the easiest bird to shoot due to their flying patterns but fairly happy with this one, I particularly like the "live" BG - that being other Gannet's on their nests.

I am a serious amateur so all C&C welcome, as I firmly believe it is the only way to learn!

    Good solid image.
IQ is good. I also like the complimentary BG.
Compwise I feel you need a bit more room in the front.
I like the green line going down the feet. Whites look good.
This is not my favorite wing position and would have preferred wings all the way up or down.
The far wing primaries intersect with the head which is unfortunate.
Overall, a nice image and look forward to more from you,
    Gail

A bit too much of a head turn toward you left the pupil a bit squished. You did quite well with the EXP in the harsh light. Try the same thing on a cloudy day.... All in addition to the good advice above.

Very nicely done. IQ & whites looks very good and I do like the BG.
EXIF details for the image would be helpful.
