    Default Red-necked Grebe in Fresh Breeding Plumage

    Found this beauty recently on the way home from work. There are always grebes in Long Island waters in the winter, but they usually leave before transitioning into their fancy feathers, so this was a treat to see.

    Hello! The light, i.q., exposure, and water look good to me. This is a loveable species, I agree.

    Not much to critique here.
    Great IQ and lovely head and body position.
    I like the comp and the way the grebe is sitting in the little wave trough.

    Grace it is difficult sometimes to get the tonal range and colours correct in birds like these but I reckon you have done splendidly, lovely shot well done.

    Styling and profiling! Love the image and the image quality. Looks like the bird just came up from a dive. I see no room for improvement here....
