To me there is nothing like spending a late March morning with the just returned Ring-billed Gulls in their fresh breeding plumage. Such gorgeous birds at this time of year, and as always they are quite willing to accept some filling treats :-)

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/250s., f/8, ISO 800, FF, natural light, handheld. Gulls were fed bread to entice them into position.

I believe we share a love of this species. I was taking portraits today also! This one is very sweet. Those reds and yellows are more than loveable, as you well know. The background is certainly complementary.

Man, That red eye ring and the black pupil pop right off of the screen! I like the white on white look to this one Daniel. Well done

Beautiful! I'm always amazed at the subtle shading differences that outline a white subject on a white BG.

Very subtle shadow under the beak and very delicate texture differences draws me in; I could not stop staring at the eye. I agree that it really "pops". Beautiful and captivating.

Superb image. I love the how the white of the birds can still be seen vs the white on the BG. The colorful parts stands out great aswell.

That really pops Daniel. I love the processing here, The bird looks so pristine, yet natural. The whites really look right on to my eye.
