    Great Crested Grebe
    I liked that sly look on the birds face- though its trying to say something

    80th @f11 500 ISO
    About 60 % of full frame.

    I like the look on his face also. He does look like a sly fellow. I like the frame but something looks a little off in the feather detail, especially in front of the eye and on the forehead. Maybe the crop size? maybe another round of sharpening? TFS

    Lovely colors and detail on the grebe and beautiful BG. The face is so compelling I almost didn't see it, but looks like you overlooked a tiny triangle of his back in the LL.

    Here is one instance where the backlighting worked to your advantage. I do like the size of the face in the frame, but I would either remove the bit of back peeking in below (as Diane saw) or add back some canvas to include more of it. Beautiful portrait overall.
