Hey Rachel,
I had high hopes for this image and you didn't disappoint! Love the subtle BG. The falling snow helped soften it. Subject sharp and well exposed. Like the snowflakes. Not sure about the tree on right and sage on left. Might have liked more or less of them in camera or in post!

Hi Rachel. I like this a lot. Nicely com[posed with very good detail and sharpness and I also like the snow and the BG.

I like how you've managed the colour and detail in the bison here Rachel, and agree with Dale on that pine tree, either a little more or out altogether for mine.
The light falling snow is contrasting nicely with the dark fur as well.

Really like the mood of this one Rachel. IMO it perfectly captures the cold, quiet isolation of the high country in winter. I think I would've also preferred more of the tree and bush.

Thanks everyone for the comments. This is full frame so no more tree but I can certainly crop tighter to eliminate it as an alternative.
Thanks again,

Hi Rachel all coming together for a nicely processed image , a good eye contact with the subject , the framing (but i would loose the pine ) and the setting with the falling snow adding interest to the image. Nice detail and color in general , maybe you can extract a tiny bit more from the 3/4 to the blacks without loosing the overall look &feel .

Hi Andre - Thanks, looks good except for the eyes are too light. I think I actually prefer the wider view though. The partial tree did not bother me at all though it seems to bother others.
Thanks again,

Very nice shot Rachel, I suspect you could get a little more detail in the snow doing a double raw conversion in DPP ( I guess I am suggesting this because I recently learned how to do this in the recent raw conversion discussions!)

Hi Rachel , i liked your version with the pine in it and also the processing of yours makes the image look so pleasing to the eyes and gives a wonderful overall feel.

Thanks Jonathan and Haseeb. Jonathan - I could probably bring out more detail in the snow in any raw converter. Because it was freshly falling snow I purposely went for that sort of softer, blanket feel rather than a more detailed, hardened snow look.
Thanks again,
Rachel

Hi Rachel, yep works for me and I'm 50/50 on the tree. Like the BKG as it conveys a layering and the 'hint' of the forest/environment.

Love the POV here, soft tones and the snow mottled into his coat Rachel.
I am fine with the tree but would crop the grass out from LHS.
I like that BG!
