That's the bomb Jim. I would normally hope for some more eye contact, but the stare at his landing is really working for me. Just a super landing pose background exposure it all works for me. well done.

I like the layered background and oof grass in the soft light. I have not checked but some of the white parts of the bird look just a touch hot. Maybe select the hot parts and take them down in brightness a little? Regards, Ian

    This is excellent.
Whites look good to me. Love the diagonal line created by the extended wings.
The BG colors and grasses are wonderful.
I would smooth out the middle whitish area in the BG blue at the top of the frame. It pulls the eye away from the owl.
I would also burn or clone out the white bird dropping on post.
A really nice image! Well done,
    Gail

Very cool landing pose...excellent timing. I love the full wingspread. I like the leaning post and strands of grass. If there is a bit of yellow iris showing in your file I would go ahead and lighten it. I'd also experiment with touch warmer WB (the whites do look rather "cool" and bluish). Perhaps also remove the white spot on the perch. Still a pretty amazing image with tons of impact, I really like it.

Amazing landing pose. The wingspread and the details are great! The concentrated look, the leaning post and the layerd BG makes it all better. I agree that the whtes look a bit cold. Daniels suggestion to try some warmer WB will propably result in something even better. There is also a darker part of the BG that you missed in the processing on the left of the head.

I love the dynamic pose, stretched wings and the display of the habitat. I wish the eyes were visible though. I agree with Dan re. warmer image, it has a very subtle blue cast and I would also tone down the feet just a tad. TFS

Wow, a lot to like about this image. Details in owl looks good although agree on toning down the whites in the legs. Like the diagonal landing pose and your BG is pretty special. The grasses add a nice touch. I can't comment on the cast b/c I am not on a calibrated monitor however, if it's slightly blue it might work with your amazing bg and the feel of the image.
