Default Snowy Owl, Tiny on the Breakwater in the Gloaming

Greetings, birdmonsters, and please accept this picture of a sudden scene which pleased me immensely, although I'll happily admit that I've been fond of this breakwater for years, and certainly I know that breakwaters aren't for everyone...

    Taken with the Canon 7D and 100-400 at 400mm. iso1600, 1/320, f5.6

Fond wishes to one and all...

Very nice Jack. When I did a browser scroll , cropping out the bottom part of the breakwater to the snow line ,I felt you would have a much stronger image while still retaining the vision you had for this shot.

Oh hello Gail! Your suggestion is a very good one. I've been playing with it, and I don't disagree! But also I am torn: although the breakwater's upper textures are more appealing than the lower textures, I am still quite fond of breakwater's bottom, with its scuffs and cracks. This is one of those tiny-birded dual-subject images to which I am hopelessly addicted! For better and worse! Let me ruminate some. Your point is well-taken and I thank you!

Jack I concur with Gail regarding composition, I also think you have a slight blue cast, which is not surprising given the conditions.

Thank you for your input, Jonathan! You are quite right about the blue cast. Some think me a _____ for never bothering to fix those unless they're REALLY out-of-wack, etc.

Wow! I LOVE the small bird in large frame here. I really like Gail's suggestion - I hadn't thought of it. Really, really liking this one Jack.

Thanks so much, Sidharth! I'm glad you like it! Gail's suggestion is a very good one, and it's been steadily growing on me. She's pretty smart!
