Taken yesterday morning, these birds go to the coast in winter, then back in the spring on our moors and farm land to breed, nice frosty morning, cannon 500mm L,IS,F4,HAND HELD,700MM FL,ISO400,1/2000S,F5.6,crop,sharpened for web,a touch of contrast adjustment.Forgot to say,the bird was feeding, and a small plane flew over, and the bird glanced up, and gave me a chance of a shot.

I like the backward and upward look, the touch of frost on the grass and the placement in the frame. If it were mine, I might crop about half of the OOF foreground to give more emphasis to the frosty grass. Nicely done, Chris!

Well timed shot, and good DOF. It may be worthwhile lifting the mid tones a little. I think Katie has a point, a little less at the base may help presentation.
