Hi Andreas - He does look fearful. You have handled the tonal range well and brought out nice detail. I might burn the rocky area below the seal in the lrc slightly as I find it drawing the eye because it is lighter/brighter. Another alternative would be to crop some off the bottom as I don't feel having the seal grounded is necessary here.

Love the angled eyeball here and you can see the fear factor, nicely presented Andreas.

Yes you could crop that sky section out, but that leaves it a little tight for mine.

Hi Andreas, interesting and cracking detail, expression says it all!

If it was me, then I might take a sliver off the foot of the image to give a bit more of a 'harder' edge, but also darken the lower RHC to give a bit more depth. The shadow area looks a bit light?????

Thanks to all of you folks for your kind comments and suggestions , as always much appreciated .

I keep the overall crop , tried tighter but then i loose some of the thoughts i have in my mind regarding the situation , at least from my POV , i have been there so i might see that different to the general viewer like you guys are .

Steve i kept the shadows light because they have been light in original file , due to the kicked up fine dust from the beach , the dust was almost as fine as the bull dust i know from SA . Yes i could have gone darker and with more punch but the location was as presented , dull light and low contrast .

    Thanks again Andreas

Andreas - this is wonderful, superb image content and I love the framing and presentation, I like the textures and tonality as well as sharpness. Love the "hesitant" look from the seal here, and especially that frown on the nose:)

    Kind regards,

Got to love that bloodshot eye, Andreas.
I like that it's almost all seal in the frame, and in an ideal world I'd have wanted that bright triangle of sky at the top to be gone...
