Here's my contribution to World Sparrow Day. We have a large herd of these guys.

Canon 7D2, 100-400 II + 1.4X III (at 476mm), ISO 800, f/9, 1/800 sec. Hand held. Would have been nice to get the tail in focus but it didn't work with this pose, which I liked otherwise. Only very basic LR adjustments to lighten shadows and bring down highlights from the bright sun, and into PS for minor BG cloning and a little work with Detail Extractor and Curves.

And what a contribution this is, Diane. I like the looking back pose, light, perch and the BG is fine. Beautiful creature.

Nice looking back pose showing the eye nicely. Well done, Diane.

Diane, I like the color pallet here, Beautifully sharp head and body. The branch is just out of focus enough to give texture to the background, The head turn gives a nice look at his eye, To my eye the head turn is too extreme, and makes him look a little contorted, but it does show interesting behavior.

No problems with tail, I like the pose and the specks of yellow in the head.
