Well I thought I would post a species from the UK to celebrate my 10,000 posting here on BPN.
Bar some very simple tweaks, this is almost straight out of the camera. The forest this time provided, IMHO, a colourful environment to give this simple subject a nice 'pop', any blurring is all DoF, nothing added.
Thanks for either viewing or commenting on the previous image.

Hi Steve firstly big congrats to your 10.000 post ....... very busy member .
You selected a very fine shot for this . A real squirrel cracker . Nicely processed with a dream of a BG , love the color palette in this frame. Only option i see is slightly give the stump a bit more depth in the lightest tones , a tiny fraction . But i like the stump as a nice set off to the squirrel.
Hi Steve - A big congrats on your 10,000th post! Even more impressive is the ratio of threads started to posts as everyone can very clearly see that the vast majority of your contributions are in commenting on and helping others with their images. I am very grateful for all the help and inspiration you have given me since I joined BPN.
Now about your image. It is a classic Mr. Detail image and we would expect no less for your 10,000th post. Excellent detail, tones and comp.
Thanks folks , Andreas perhaps a Lights/Mode adjustment may work, but will wait untill I'm home for a few weeks next week.
Rachel, a big thank you for the very kind and thoughtful words, they are very much appreciated. It's also very rewarding to see how people develop & progress through the feedback given by everyone here at BPN.
Morning Steve just reviewed this stunner ......... since when are you using in between ISO values ? I remember you say, staying to full stops is giving better results . BTW you are not alone with this . Is there the standard NR of LR applied or is NR turned off ?
Just asking curious .
Hi Andreas, only just started to explore M mode with Auto ISO, albeit thanks to a good friend of mine where there was the opportunity to compare Nikon high end and 1DX, as I've always shot AV no question, so I may toggle between the two options depending on conditions. With the 1DX it does work, however I cannot say how well it may work with other bodies.
Is there the standard NR of LR applied or is NR turned off ?
It just depends on the image, I might use LR, or a Third party software, with this I think it was LR with minimum adjustments as the original was so clean.
I just have to giggle a bit Steve , cause i told you i have used exactly that combo ......... and you were saying stay away from Auto Iso .Never stop learning
You never stop learning Andreas , I personally do think you need still need to be aware of the settings at the time of shooting, so for me I will still keep to AV, but in certain conditions I may swop to the above, I'm just wanting to hone more & more these Cases (Auto Configuration).

Nice image Steve. Handsome subject, beautiful soft BG, and a great perch. And another thanks for all the helpful suggestions you've given to me as well as other forum members and visitors.
Congratulations Steve !! Though i am a new-comer , I have always observed that you are one of the most active member on this forum helping out everyone to shoot better images. A brilliant image with a lovely BG. Hope to learn from you in years to come :)
Haseeb.
A bit late to the party but big congratulations on your 10Kth post
Its a cracking image of such a nice endemic species. Much nicer than the grey squirrel that has taken its place in quite a large portion of the country.
Thanks Shane, totally agree regarding the 'Greys', they are considered vermin here, but slowly the Red's are becoming more visible, but the setting in Scotland just seems to make it.
