Dear Nancy,
You brought back some very interesting images from your trip - the eyes of this Snow Monkey are quite fascinating and full of expression, not to mention the colours - so vivid, it's unbelievable.
I like the way you captured your subjects in such an intimate, if not affectionate, pose. For a moment I wondered what this would look like with a very tight crop - I am certainly not saying it would be better because I do like the composition here very much, I just thought a close-up might be interesting. Your image as presented is very generous in terms of context (BG as well as FG) and it makes a great story, should you decide to take it all away the viewer might need to employ a bit of imagination. So definitely not a better option, just an alternative:)
I think you did a great job with the equipment you had available and your PP work reveals a thoughtfully processed image.
Great work Nancy, I am following your images from this trip with much interest, thank you for sharing
Kind regards,

Hi Nancy, I like the way the main subject creates a 'pyramid' shape and the fact you used another subject to frame as a natural backdrop. Love the face being shrouded in that dense fur and the contrast of colour of the face against the tan colour of the coat, very striking. With hindsight I wonder if it was possible to have moved a fraction more to the right so you had a more 'head on', not a deal breaker, as it's so close. Personally I might be tempted just to darken the top LH diagonal to match the RHS and perhaps adding a bit more standout, a quick fix if you are using LR or Camera RAW.
Nice thinking on this one.

Hi Nancy - Well seen, captured and processed. The eyes are mesmerizing. Good detail and sharpness. Steve's suggestion will take it up a notch. I also thought about a tighter or pano crop but the more I look I think your comp is the best with the entire head of the fg monkey in the frame.

Love this image as is and there are a few good suggestions above... I'll throw one in as well. I would love to see this image shot with a very shallow DOF with your lens wide open.. Would be interesting, perhaps not better but different.. Great job Nancy!
