Great way to honour the Saint! What a remarkable looking bird - never seen anything quite like it!
Image quality is excellent. In the unlikely event that this was ever mine - I would remove that little speck of white on the feathers and the bright dot in the pupil - from the fill flash, I presume.
Thanks, its amazing!

Hey Katie this is so stunning .......... a green monochrome , never seen that before .
Extremely well processed with great colors and very fine detail .
I would agree with Gerald regarding the flash spot in the eye, but would leave the other white one where it is .
Really nice work . TFS Andreas

Nice one Katie, and a perfect choice for St. Patrick's Day! I might get rid of the catchlight in the center of the pupil.

The NSN post was by Nate Chappell (Trogon Tours) and I was probably right next to him at the time as it we were on his South Africa trip. Many great sightings...
Thanks for the kind words.

How cool is this!! Superb image...the green on green is fantastic. excellent feather detail. Is the crest always raised like this? Funny...I don't mind the pin-point catchlight, but would remove the dot on the pluamge as well as the small faint white area touching the forehead. Thanks for sharing this beauty!!

I told Nate to print and frame his and I recommend you do the same too. Beautiful bird with that red eye ring and the white trim. Well done

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to comment; I will make the suggested edit to the eye and probably take out the white spot, too. Glad it pleased you.
Cheers,
Katie

Trivia buffs may be interested to note that turacos are the only birds that are really green in the sense that their color is derived from a green pigment rather than the optical tricks of feather structure most "green" birds employ.
