Great subject, IQ on the bird looks good. Light is harsh, and the BG is a bit busy. A lower angle would have helped here, although it probably wasn't possible as you said you were on a boat. (Also, I can't really tell what the prey item is, but you should disclose if the bird was baited)

Beautiful bird and very nice IQ. Sometimes you just have to go with the light that's there when you come upon a great subject. I'd like to see a bit tighter crop, especially at the bottom, which would eliminate some of the busy background.
