    Default Wood Duck Featherscape

I've always loved to take "featherscapes" when the opportunity presented itself, so when this very tame female Wood Duck decided to rest in front of me, with her wing colours exposed, I went straight to work on that. Hope you like it!

Canon 7D + 100-400L @400mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/250s., f/8, ISO 800, fill-flash @ -0.3 FEC, full-frame, some white snowflake specks removed from the plumage, but opted to leave the full snowflake there.

Very nice Daniel. Love the colours.. I like this kind of image, it would look great on canvas. Glad you left the snowflake. This is a very nice work of art. The centre feather showing the colours blending, immediately catches the eye. Then, you take in the whole image. Wonderful. Thanks for sharing

I like this approach to bird photography, Dan. These feathers are beautiful and the chosen composition is perfect.
