A Dalmatian Pelican with its wild eyes and wacky hair-do - photographed way back in 2011 on a wonderful trip to Lake Kerkini in Northern Greece. Despite their comical looks, they are very serious when it comes to fish!

I hope it makes you smile!

Beautiful, symmetrical pose. I really like the feather detail, nice job on the whites. Because this guy is so up close and personal, did you consider a slightly tighter crop? Splashes of red and orange really top this one off. Great job.

This is quite the impressive frame. Love that head on look, the hair do and all those amazing details! F11 worked well here.

Ruffled feathers and headon view are killer on this one. Lovely details and the colour contrasts work very well

Fun shot. The splashes of color and messy feathers make it come to life. Well done.

Thanks to all for your kind words and comments. The Dalmatian Pelicans at Kerkini are really fantastic creatures and it was a great experience to spend time with them. Even after so long I am still finding some great shots among the archives.

    Thanks, Gerald
