    Default Theme: Light Path

I captured the base image last weekend on a hike in my town. I thought it looked perfect for the theme and thought it was going to be a color image. The more I looked at it, the more I wanted to make it an IR B&W image. I used Topaz Impression, Topaz B&W FX, Nik CEP, and some routine adjustments. The IR treatment caused the lush green vegetation to turn white, making it look almost like snow, but it was taken just last week here in the land where it never snows.

Amazing what IR can do isn't it. The comp is very good. Path leading through a curved area out. The sunlight, I think, grounds it, giving a point of focus, source of the light. Glad you were able to catch that at just the right angle. (Wonderful thing about post processing....we can have snow even when there never is any:) )

I love what IR does to foliage. Very lovely Kerry with the starburst, leading lines, and great PP! It looks like an enchanted world!

You would never convince me this is a faux-IR! Gorgeous! Path and sunburst are perfectly placed, and the feathery vegetation in the LL leads up to the very interesting more-defined foliage behind it, and then to the tree that cradles the sun and moved the eye down to the "secondary" trees on the right, and onto the path, which has an intriguing mix of texture and light and shadow. This is just an exceptional image, to me.

My only thought might be a little more contrast and darkening in the two right hand corners.

The others have touched on the strong features of the image. I particularly like the composition and use of IR effect.

I don't think I can add anything to what's already been said. Very, very nicely done.
