This bird came in quickly and seems to be smiling knowing that it had burst out of my frame leaving a head portrait as the only record of a close encounter. It is the same bird, photographed on 26 February 2015 off the east coast of Australia, shown in my image uploaded yesterday.
Canon 5DIII + 300 mm f/2.8L II + 1.4x III extender, hand-held.
Manual, spot metering, 9-pt zone AF, f/5.6, 1/3200 sec, ISO 400.

Great to see such a close-up image of this amazing creature - most of us will never get this close! The form of the bill is really so special and you have captured all the detail - there and in the plumage. Very simple but very striking. Thanks for sharing.
I just commented on Anthony's albatross image that it looked mean-streaked....but yours on the other hand looks very kind and peaceful! I love the soft whites and lovely bill.
