Captured this image of an Eastern Screech-Owl, red morph, this past Saturday in a local park. We had gone looking for either Rough-legged Hawk or Redhead, but no luck. While we were there someone mentioned they had spotted this Eastern-Screech Owl in a Sycamore tree. A lifer for me. I have many more close images, but like the environment of this crop. Happened to be the first frame of the series. C&C welcome.

I love the scene! The little "sphere cones" hanging from the top left are just awesome (almost festive)...plus their colour matches that of the owl. It almost makes me overlook the "messy" BG in that part of the image. The tree is also very nice with the interesting bark pattern. The owl works very well small in the frame.
Huge congrats on the lifer, what an exciting experience for you. I call images like these "windows into nature" and this window is a great view Geoffrey.
Excellent composition, and a real pleasure to see... nice vision and execution on this one.
Very nice indeed Geoff. Lovely details and colours throughout the image. I like the comp. The owl is as you would see it, if out walking without a camera Good work
What a captivating scene you have here. The only thing which could have improved this image would have been if the intersection twigs in the LR had not been there, but such is nature. I love how small the owl is in the frame and how comfortable it is with your presence. Those hanging "doohickeys" are pretty cool and add a lot of interest to the image.
