    Default High-key Barred Owl.

Taken a few weeks ago. I posted the same owl on the same perch, but with a coloured BG that many may prefer, but as a fan of high-key I have a bit of a soft spot for this one too. Take a look at the difference it made here by taking two steps to my right:

Cool tree, and the branches you left work very nicely in this image Daniel... composition is really well seen IMO.
Barred Owl looks fantastic... I would be tempted to add a bit more color/punch to the browns in the BO, but having never seen one, the color as presented is probably perfect.
Really nice work, I like it a lot.

BTW... did you add a catchlight to the right eye?

I like it Daniel. If mine I might be inclined to move the owl a little left making the tree more a part of the composition. Beautiful owl, nice high key image.

Thanks guys! Kirk, in this image both catchlights (and reflections) are natural and were left as is.

Nice high key image of this guy with the the branches framing him nicely. I kind of like the sleepy look. Well done Daniel

Love it!! Much prefer this to the earlier shot. The two steps gave you the hi-key AND separated the owl from the tree. Good thinking.

I like this one a lot, Dan. Especially the feathers covering the tiny perch where it is sitting. I love the feel of this high key.Nicely done.

Hi Dan, I like the sleepy pose here, together with the feather detail. Exposure spot on, and the curved branch above the Owl takes this up a few notches.

great high key image. The wispy feathers covering the perch and the sleepy look make it look like an eskimo :)

IQ and exposure are spot on

The composition is particularly good all the elements look purposeful, I think the small gap to the right of the bird is essential. Excellent shot.
