This is from the archives, 2008. I was cleaning up some files and reworked this one. Obviously not the iq of present equipment, but I do like the behavior displayed. The bird on the right was simply bathing when the one on the left decided that he didn't like it. I can't explain the actions of the agressor as food and space is plentiful, maybe just a bit of sparring to see who is tougher?

    Thanks for looking!

Hi Grace, great interaction here, between the two Oystercatchers. Lovely POV and great HA's on both. Nice golden lines on the feather detail due to the lovely light.

    Overall a very nice image

Wow this is pretty Grace. The golden light and your excellent shooting angle have produced gorgeous color and detail that make your subjects just pop off the screen. Well done!
Great interaction and composition... it looks to my eye that the frame might need a bit of CW rotation.
    Terrific image, very well done.

Looks like a bit of sibling rivalry to me. Pretty common in young birds of all species. Sometimes I think it has to do with hierarchy and dominance even though there's plenty of food. The Shot looks great with some really beautiful light on them and your standard solid techs. Nice capture Grace.

Hi Grace, sweet light for sure, and you timed the behaviour perfectly. Good low shooting angle, and I can see why Kirk is concerned about the rotation, but I feel you have right.
