My first field test with 7D mk2 and the new EF100-400 lens (This combo replaced my original EF100-400 and 7D body).

Marked improvement all round but probably not the correct forum here to go into any detail. But very happy

Congrats on the new gear John, this image is wonderfully sharp with good color in this beautiful little ZF.
BG is terrific, and an interesting perch. My only suggestion is to move your subject further left in frame to decenter it and create some more negative space to the right of the ZF (if you have the room).
    Nicely done.

Nice image, lovely background and full of colors. I agree with adding just a bit infront of the bird to loose a bit the squarish crop.

Hi John, this little bird of yours looks nice and sharp and well exposed, neat uncluttered b/g, very nice job.

Hope all is good with you.

Hey John, what a great look at this handsome little finch. The colors and details are perfect and I really like the background, Not to mention the nice perch also. Well done.
